Sport Jiu Jitsu or Newaza ( Brazilian Jiu Jitsu)? Athlete, Coach or Official?
ONLY one Annual Membership is required!
Annual OJA memberships are based on the calendar year. Active memberships end on December 31st of the year of registration. This is true no matter when a member has registered. The only exception is for memberships registered on October 1st and after, the association will honor the membership for the rest of the year and the membership will be valid until December 31st on the subsequent year.
Example 1: An athlete registers with OJA on January 5th 2020. The membership will be valid until December 31st 2020
Example 2: An athlete registers with OJA on September 1st 2020. The membership will be valid until December 31st 2020
Example 3: An athlete registers with OJA on October 1st 2020. The membership will be valid until December 31st 2021
The OJA annual membership is non-refundable.

- Be affiliated with a currently registered OJA Club
For Coaches and Officials
- Background screening results. Depending on factors, either need Vulnerable Sector Verification (VSV) or Sterling Enhanced Police Information Check (E-PIC)
- Complete “Respect in Sport”
All registration process is digital and online. The OJA is currently not issuing cards.
The OJA is using a third-party company called Mata Leao to manage the memberships registration.
You need to create an account on Mata Leao first then you can register/pay for your annual membership.
